Delta, BC--- Eriez announces Teck Resources Limited, Canada’s largest diversified resource company, recently completed a comparative sparger analysis at its Red Dog Operations in Alaska. That analysis resulted in a decision to use CavTube® spargers manufactured by Eriez® Flotation Division (EFD).
EFD’s CavTube design allows for direct replacement of the previously used spargers with no column modifications required, according to Craig Hutchinson, Product Manager—Sparging Systems for EFD.
“Teck found that the wear life of the CavTubes was significantly longer and provided significant performance advantages in terms of reduced maintenance, longer life, fewer unscheduled shutdowns and improved safety from the elimination of slurry leaks,” said Hutchinson. “The EFD CavTube has less wear because the abrasive flow of slurry does not directly impinge on the internal geometry of the sparger. ”
Teck is also now converting the spargers at Highland Valley Copper to EFD’s CavTube spargers, according to Hutchinson.
