Christian Concha
Process Engineer

Based in Peru

Christian has a B.Sc in Metallurgical Engineering and a B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering both from the San Agustin University, Arequipa (Peru).

Christian has worked in project development and a number of operations such as the El Toro Mine, the Anabi Mine, and at Minsur’s San Rafael Concentrator.

 

Jose Concha
Deputy Managing Director – EFD|Peru

Based in Peru

Jose is a licensed Chemical Engineer (B.Sc, San Agustin University, Arequipa) and has a M.Sc in Metallurgical Engineering from the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (Brasil) and an MBA from ESAN Graduate School of Business, Lima.

Before joining Eriez in 2012, Jose worked at Outotec (Peru) where he has held positions as process engineer, flotation manager and concentrator and hydrometallurgical plants manager for the Andean Market (Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia).

Prior to that, Jose has worked as a senior supervisor at Newmont’s Yanacocha Mine (Newmont), a supervisor at Milpo’s Pampa de Cobre & Atacocha Mine, and as a process engineer at Buenaventura’s Orcopampa Mine and Transmin Metallurgical Consultants.

 

Weslley Medeiros
Process Engineer

Based in Brasil

Weslley has a B.Sc in Metallurgical Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, where he is also an M.Sc candidate.

Weslley worked with the production of FeSi alloys in electric arc furnace, before he joined EFD in 2011.

 

Felipe Valdés
Process Engineering

Based in Chile

Felipe has a B.Sc in Metallurgical Engineering from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, and has worked in a variety of metallurgical and chemical process.  Before joining EFD, Felipe worked at Delkor South America as a process and testing engineer for the design of thickeners and filters, and with the Chilean nuclear commission as a process engineer for the purification and processing of enriched uranium (LEU) at laboratory and pilot level. He has also worked as  a consulting engineer in the area of HazOp analysis.


North America


Lance Christodoulou
Senior Process Engineer

Based in the USA

Lance started work in the mining industry as a learner official in the Gold Fields bursary scheme in 1994, working on Kloof Gold Mine. He commenced with studies at the University of Pretoria where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering in 1999.  

In 2001 he was hired by Eriez South Africa as a sales engineer predominantly focusing on Eriez process solutions in the mining industry. In 2006 he was transferred to Eriez Headquarters in Erie, PA where he continued in his position of sales engineer for the heavy industries group. In 2009 he was promoted to his current position of Senior Process Engineer working in the Eriez Flotation Division.

His current duties include overseeing pilot and laboratory scale flotation test programs, performing on-site pilot scale test programs, analysis of test data to scale up to production scale equipment, commissioning of production equipment and customer interaction for the sale of Eriez Flotation division equipment.


Maoming Fan, PhD
Senior Process Engineer

Based in the USA

Maoming Fan graduated with a B.Sc, M.Sc and PhD in mineral processing engineering from China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), where he was appointed as an associate professor in 2002. He received his second Ph.D. degree in mining engineering from the University of Kentucky (UK) in 2008 with an emphasis in minerals processing. At the University of Kentucky, Maoming was responsible for a variety of lab and pilot scale evaluations including enhanced froth flotation through the use of ultra-fine bubbles (i.e, picobubble flotation). In 2009, Maoming was hired by EFD as a process engineer. He has authored or co-authored over 85 technical papers, edited 10 book chapters, and has been awarded three patents. In addition, he and his coauthors received the 2009 SME Stefanko Best Paper Award.

 

Matt Hercun
Process Engineer -EIT

Based in the USA

Matt graduated from the Mining and Mineral Exploration Technologies program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology and transferred to Montana Tech where he obtained a B.Sc in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Matt has previously worked at Newmont’s Malozemoff Technical Facility in Denver, Colorado and in the mineral exploration field in northern Canada.

 

Drew Hobert
Process Engineer -EIT

Based in the USA

Drew has recently graduated with a B.Sc (2013) and M.Sc (2014) in Mining Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic and State University.  While at Virginia Tech, Drew’s graduate research focused on flotation and sparging under an assistantship sponsored by the Eriez Flotation Division. Furthermore, he contributed to the completion of coal dewatering tests using nano drying particles researched at Virginia Tech.

 

Craig Hutchinson
Product Manager-Sparging Systems

Based in Canada

Craig is a graduate of the University of British Columbia. Craig has been a member of the EFD Canada team (previously Canadian Process Technologies Inc.) since 2006.   Craig’s experience in industrial sales spans more than twenty years, primarily in the mining, HVAC and filtration industries.  Craig’s primary focus is sparging systems, focusing on flotation and leaching applications.  Craig works closely with our customers to provide superior sparging systems for new projects as well as retrofitting existing plants with state of the art sparging technology, which includes follow-up service and training.  

 

Oscar Lopez
Sales Manager for Mexico and Central America

Based in Mexico

Oscar graduated from the Instituto Politecnico Nacional with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. After graduation, he worked for the Penoles Mining Group at La Encantada, Bismark, Sabinas and Milpillas Concentrator plants, followed by ten years at the Penoles Development and Research Center, working on various metallurgical projects. During this time, he received a M.Sc from the ITESM, Mexico.

Oscar joined Outotec in 2007 as manager of metallurgy, and then sales manager for process equipment, and senior sales manager for hydrometallurgical products. In 2013 Oscar joined FLSmidth as senior sales manager for capital equipment in Mexico and Central America where he had a major impact improving FLS’ position in the Mexican mining market.

Oscar joined the Eriez Flotation Division in April 2016 with responsibilities for Mexico and Central America. He is also working part-time on a PhD in flotation applications in mineral processing.

 

Shashi Nemade, P.Eng
Director, Engineering and Projects

Based in Canada

Shashi is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Pune University, India and a licensed Professional Engineer in British Columbia, Canada. He completed his diploma in Business Management from Pune University. Shashi has been a key member of the EFD team (previously Canadian Process Technologies Inc.) since 2006.  In this role, Shashi has global responsibilities for managing EFD’s design and engineering projects related to mineral processing equipment.  In this capacity, he manages and leads the engineering function for projects throughout the world.

Shashi has over 25 years of experience in design and development of custom process equipment. Before joining the Eriez group, he worked in India and Canada in various capacities for product design such as centrifugal fans, bag filters, cyclones, scrubbers, tanks, pressure vessels, supporting structures, ducting and piping systems, dryers and tunnel washers. He has led teams of contractors and engineers to complete turn-key distillery projects with very tight delivery schedule. He has handled many flotation equipment supply projects over the last 10 years.   

 

Helen Segarty
Process Engineer, EIT

Based in Canada

Helen graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2014, with a BASc in Mining and Mineral Process Engineering. She joined Eriez Flotation Division after working as a Metallurgist at Thompson Creek’s Mt. Milligan operation, and Taseko’s Gibraltar Mine.

 

Tim Sheehan
Sales Manager – Process Engineering

Based in Canada

Tim joined Eriez after five years as the senior mineral processing engineer at Unimin Corporation where he managed the technical services group through multi-disciplinary research into projects to improve the industrial operation of high purity quartz and glass sand processing.  As well, Tim was a key member of the process design team through the development of a new 50 million dollar feldspar processing plant.  Prior to that Tim spent several years as a graduate researcher at Virginia Tech. (Department of Mining and Minerals Processing) investigating column flotation systems. 

After an initial period managing the technical services lab at Eriez Manufacturing Co., in Erie PA., Tim joined the Eriez Flotation Division in Canada where he leads the process engineering group.  Tim has a B.S. in Mining and Minerals Engineering from Virginia Tech.

 

Elena V. Tselykh
Senior Process Engineer

Based in Canada

Elena is a graduate of the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys with a degree in Mineral Process Engineering with specialties in froth flotation, flotation enrichment and flotation reagents.

Elena has over twenty years of experience within a variety of mineral processing applications.  Before joining Eriez Flotation Division in Canada, Elena was the senior process engineer (Mining Department) for CETCO, based in Russia, where she was responsible for planning and conducting flotation test programs, analysis and interpretation of test data, subsequent mass and material balance and process design of flotation flow-sheets for a variety of mineral applications.

 

Eric Bain Wasmund, Ph.D, P.Eng
Global Managing Director

Based in Canada

Eric graduated in Chemical Engineering (B.Sc Queen's) and has a Ph.D in process metallurgy (Ph.D McMaster) and is a licensed professional engineer in Ontario and British Columbia.  He spent almost twenty years working for Inco and Vale in a number of technical and commercial roles world-wide related to process engineering and extractive metallurgy, most recently as the engineering manager for corporate capital projects.  He has also worked at Outotec, where he managed the North American flotation products business.

Eric Yan
Deputy Managing Director – EFD|USA

Based in the USA

Eric joined Eriez in 2005 as a Research Engineer in the R&D Process Group. He completed his undergraduate Mining Engineering degree at the National Taipei University, after which he was accepted for graduate studies at Virginia Tech. Upon completion of his graduate studies, Eric accepted the position of Product Development Manager with Outotec (formerly Outokumpu) in Jacksonville, Florida. While at Outotec, Eric was responsible for several international patents.

Since joining Eriez, Eric has contributed to the development of EFD’s flotation and density separation product lines. Eric is currently responsible for running EFD’s very successful full-service test lab and pilot facility in Erie PA.  This lab allows customers to develop and test innovative custom-tailored flow-sheets and size Eriez' proprietary process equipment.

 

Australia

 

Jaisen N. Kohmuench, Ph.D, PE
Managing Director Eriez Manufacturing Australia

Based in Australia

Jaisen has a B.Sc, M.Sc and Ph.D in mining and mineral processing from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. As a doctoral candidate, he was sponsored by the Eriez Manufacturing Company (Erie, PA). During this time, Jaisen was integral in the development of several patented technologies including Eriez’ CrossFlow and HydroFloat separators. He was also heavily involved with Eriez’ CoalPro column flotation technology.

Jaisen is currently responsible for managing Eriez Manufacturing Australia, which includes sales, engineering and delivery of Eriez' products for magnetic separation and flotation products.

 

Homie Thanasekaran
Sales Manager

Based in Australia

Homie graduated with a B.Sc in Chemical Engineering degree from the Annamalai University, India in 2001 and a M.Sc. from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology Australia in 2004.

In 2006, Homie was hired by BHP Billiton Australia to work as a project metallurgist in the Olympic dam operations. His work focused on froth flotation circuit optimization and sulphide recovery improvement project.

In 2011, he was hired by EFD Australia to work as a process engineer to develop and support new flotation separation technologies. These efforts included work in froth flotation for fine particle flotation as well as coarse particle flotation. To this end, Homie has conducted multiple in-field pilot scale test evaluations.

  

China

 

Liu Aichun
Sales Manager

Based in China 

Aichun has a B.Sc in mineral processing engineering from the Northeastern University (China).  After graduating in 2005, Aichun worked as a mineral processing engineer in an iron ore concentrator for 5 years. Aichun joined Eriez in 2010 as the Eriez China test lab manager and  subsequently assumed a technical support role in the Chinese mining market.  Aichun is now responsible for the Eriez China mining team which includes sales, design, test lab and pilot work.

Wang Qi
Application Engineer

Based in China

Wang Qi graduated from Wuhan University of Science and Technology in 2006 with a B.Sc in mineral processing. After graduation, he worked as a workshop manager for seven years in Jiangxi Copper Corporation, being responsible for production management of the copper concentrator. From 2013 to 2015, he was responsible for the design of the mineral processing processes, tailings back-fill and mining contract projects as a project leader in the Wuhan Iron and Steel Group design institute.
